Description: Four days of pony filled summer fun: the stuff childhood memories are made of!
Ponies will stay at Bucklebury for the duration of camp, either in individual turnout pens, or stables, as desired, children go home each night.
Each day will begin at about 9.00, with pony care, mucking out and tacking up, Then there will be riding and instructor led activities from 10.00-12.00, lunch (bring your own picnic) is from 12.00 - 1.00, and another ride and instructor led activity from 1.00 - 3.00.
There will then be a dismounted activity from 3.00 - 4.00, perhaps helping to exercise the hounds, enjoying a BBQ and music, having a go on a bucking bronco or watching a carriage driving demo, weigh your pony and learn a bit more about nutrition. Home time is 4.00 - 4.30, once your pony is settled for the night.
Ponies will be checked (and can be fed if required) last thing at night and first thing in the morning by a camp organiser.
We have full use of all the fabulous facilities at Bucklebury - a cross country course with new jumps added, ranging from tiny up to 1m, a water jump complex, a brand new all weather 40x60m arena with show jumps, and beautiful hacking, including access to the famous ford for memorable pony splashes.
Junior Camp is aimed at children aged from about 9 up to about 13, if you are not sure which camp your child should go to, please get in touch to discuss. There is flexibility! Children will be divided into rides according to ability, each ride will have about 4 children, and a dedicated instructor.
Please remember, children need to have attended at least 3 mounted, arena based rallies in 2026 to be eligible for camp.
We cannot run all this without your help, and we need one adult to accompany each instructor on every ride and activity session. Each family needs to provide someone for at least 2 sessions (morning or afternoon). Teenagers (aged 16+) can be signed up to help if they are interested and engaged! A sign up email will be heading your way in due course.
Parents are welcome to leave their children at camp, under the supervision of their instructor and the organisers, when they are not on duty for a supervision session, but please be on hand to help tack up and muck out on arrival in the morning and settle in your pony and then for pick up.
To secure your place please enter ASAP and pay the £150 deposit. The balance will be due nearer the time, the exact amount will be calculated once we know numbers, but the total payable will be around the same as last year, about £365 per child.
Please enter as soon as you can, as places are limited!
Pre-camp rallies will be taking place at Bucklebury in May / June and will go online for booking once camp entries are in. This will be a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with Bucklebury, and see the XC and SJ courses and pony accommodation for yourselves.
